The I Love America Book Mission
I Love America is a book of appreciation, inspiration and action, not politics and tribalism.
My goal with this book is to move past the easy positions of disdain, cynicism, and opposition between left versus right, blue versus red, you versus me and move towards common sense, renewed respect, and sensible action for America. If we can get there, that is the day we change the game.
And what better first step than to feature your fellow citizens? The men and women who have unselfishly served (and for some, continue to serve) their country’s military?
I am intentionally giving a voice and platform to everyday Americans. Unless you are a friend or family member, I doubt you will know the folks you are about to meet. And I think that is important. The last thing any of us need is more “advice” from experts, pundits, politicians, talking heads, and activists. I believe the way things get better is if everyday people do positive and meaningful things.
- This edition of I Love America is about serving those who have served and bringing their stories, ideas and challenges to you. Each chapter contains three distinct sections:
The contributing author’s profile. - Their story, ideas, and insights.
- Their “reader challenge” (which gives you actionable things to do for America).
It is important for you to know that the 13 veterans you are about to meet are courageous and altruistic men and women who have a profound love for America and have served our country and continue to do so. Their stories are meant to impact you and inspire action. I share this because this is a book by the people, for the people.
Each chapter “sounds” different because it is written by a different person, his or her story in his or her own words. As you read each chapter, I encourage you to focus on the messages shared to see what you can take away from each chapter and use for America’s good.
You'll notice a theme weaved throughout this book, which is, “The American Dream is alive and well, BUT it takes faith, perseverance, and an ‘I CAN’ attitude combined with ACTION.”
